The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the government of Bangladesh will sign an agreement worth 25 million US dollar equivalent to about Taka 175 crore for a project to build brick making industry, officials said.
The agreement will be signed at the Economic Relations Division (ERD) at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the city, said a UNDP statement issued here on Saturday.
The fund will be disbursed for implementation of the new development project styled ‘Improving Kiln Efficiency in Brick Making Industry’ for the next five years.
ERD Secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Country Director of UNDP Bangladesh Stefan Priesner, Assistant Country Director of UNDP and Head of the Environment and Climate Change Cluster, UNDP Bangladesh, M Aminul Islam will attend the signing.
